Job Description

Role Purpose 

This is a newly created role in our growing Investment team – supporting the team to manage and report on a growing investment portfolio of leading community finance providers. Some examples to our investments made to date can be found here

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help transform the way financial services serve people in vulnerable circumstances in the UK. At Fair4All Finance we are supporting the development of organisations serving this consumer group through financial investments, development of tools and frameworks, and provision of advisory services to individual organisations.  

This role is to support the investment and portfolio management work of the Investment team. Our ideal candidate will be organised, flexible, good-humoured, creative and resourceful, and contribute to the continual improvement of our structures and processes. You'll collaborate purposefully with others on shared goals. You’ll be self-directed and able to anticipate future needs or activities, sometimes acting ahead or reacting to circumstances without waiting for direction. 

What you'll be doing 

Reporting 75% 

  • Designing a straightforward reporting methodology for our growing portfolio of impact investments into community finance providers (supported by the Investment Director), working with the Investment team and research associate to refine our financial & social KPIs; to be in place by Q3 2021 

  • This will include the final fund reports of our Covid-19 Resilience grant fund in summer 2021 

  • Then taking on responsibility for our monthly & quarterly portfolio reporting – working closely with the Investment officers in the team, and delivering clear & concise reporting to the board and wider stakeholders 

Investment due diligence 15% 

  • Supporting the investment officers on other aspects of making investments and managing the portfolio, including: AML requirements for each investment; legal completion of investments; regular reporting to our board 

Team support 10% 

  • Some support for the Investment Director to arrange meetings with funders and other external stakeholders 

  • Supporting the team with regular feedback, check-ins, and developmental objectives 

  • Contributing to a healthy and positive team culture, through role modelling in line with our commitments

  • Taking on other reasonable duties as appropriate, in line with your skills, knowledge abilities and experience 

Who you are 

Essential experience and capabilities include:  

To be successful you will need to: 

  • Be self-organised, proactive, and detail-orientated 

  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills   

  • Possess a basic understanding of investment and/or impact reporting process(es)
