Role outline and purpose
This role is responsible for developing existing and engaging new high-profile influential supporters to help increase awareness, understanding and consideration of our mission and goal. This role will assist with delivering an influencer strategy, working across the celebrity, church, advocacy and business sectors, that builds traction, provokes conversations, wins hearts and minds, and keeps hunger and food bank use at the forefront of the national agenda.
Role responsibilities
· Support the delivery of an influencer engagement strategy that builds cause awareness, tackles the misconceptions of poverty and shifts behaviours among key audiences.
· Drive and undertake detailed research projects, providing insight and research on current and potential high-profile supporters across the celebrity, church, advocacy and business sectors. Including monitoring all media, print, digital and social channels for influencer news.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with high-profile influencers and build an evolving pipeline of potential new supporters.
· Create bespoke and mutually beneficial engagement plans for each high-profile influencer, ensuring all influencers reflect our values and work.
· Working within the PE directorate and beyond, deliver a plan of strategic communications opportunities with influencers that build understanding and public will for the policy and societal changes needed to end the need for food banks
· Support colleagues from the Trussell Trust and wider food bank network with communications support, media requests, blogs, social media, etc. as well as influencer briefings and guidance
Person Specification
Technical skills and minimum knowledge:
· Some experience with working with high-profile supporters
· Knowledge of key communication channels including media, social media and digital
· Creative thinker with the ability to deliver innovative ideas
· Strong organisational and time management skills - able to multitask
· Passion and interest in keeping up to date with sector news – across the talent, entertainment, church, advocacy, business and cultural landscapes
· A natural curiosity to be always learning about our evolving industry - reading, watching, listening to stay abreast of cultural trends that can inform and impact our work with an eye for established and upcoming talent and influencers
