About The PSC and what we look for

The PSC is a team of public service consultants who exist to make public services brilliant for organisations, society and individuals.

We work together with ambitious leaders in some of the UK’s biggest public service organisations, creating lasting public value and helping to build a sustainable future. Our expertise has been recognised by the Financial Times, The Economist and The Guardian.

As an intern, you will be given responsibility from day one, working on both client-facing and internal projects. You’ll collaborate with consultants, senior clients, and frontline public service staff to solve some of the biggest challenges facing public services.

We’re looking for individuals who share our intellectual curiosity, passion, enthusiasm and dedication to solving the knotty problems required to improve public services. We are believers in growth mindsets and that no employee is the finished article. Therefore, we look for people who:

  • Show potential and a willingness to learn

  • Embody entrepreneurial spirit and thought leadership

  • Are exceptional problem solvers, with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Are passionate about achieving lasting change in public services

Start date: Internships will begin in July 2026 and run for 8 weeks. Applicants for our Internship role should be in their penultimate or final year of university, and if offered a permanent role on completion of the internship should be available to begin in September/October 2027.

The application process includes a timed numerical test and the completion of an online application form.

Candidates who successfully pass the numerical test will be invited to complete a written assignment, which must be submitted within one week. All stages of the process are blind-reviewed. We are committed to reducing bias in our recruitment and interview processes, and CVs are not reviewed until the final decision stage.

Applications close on Monday 23rd February 2026. All applications and written assignments will be reviewed after the closing date.

Successful candidates will be invited to attend two rounds of in-person interviews at our London office between the 16th  and 27th March, with interview invitations sent out on Friday 6th March.

Please ensure you check your spam or junk folder regularly, as emails from our recruitment platform may occasionally be filtered there, and we would not want you to miss any important communications or deadlines.

If you require any reasonable adjustments (e.g. extra time for timed tests), you will be able to apply these to your timed test yourself. We will aim to get back to you as soon as possible, but please keep in mind we work Monday to Friday, and it may take up to 48 hours to respond to your request.
