Job Description
Project Description:
The attribution of satellite detections to different site types encompasses a wide range of industrial facilities which includes pinpointing the source of emissions down to the level of oil & gas production and storage facilities, waste management centers, coal mines, power stations, steel mills, aluminum smelters, chemical plants, and cement works . Therefore, one of the key components of the solution requires us to build a reliable global inventory of facilities with every major sector of the economy and every major source of emissions. The applicant will contribute to improving the data accuracy and coverage of the facility inventory by applying data fusion of disparate data sources and machine learning techniques.
The activities that will be undertaken will require:
Exploratory data analysis and visualization
Design of new data pipelines for blending and processing large volumes of data
Machine learning model prototyping

Applicant Specification:
Academic
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or other STEM subject
Minimum requirements:
Passion and enthusiasm
Knowledge in data science and statistical learning
Competence in Python and SQL programming
Experience with data visualization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
Desirable requirements:
Expertise in geospatial data processing
Familiarity with the Earth Observation field and remote sensing applications

8 weeks fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate
