Advisor: Service Design - Sydney
The Behavioural Insights Team
- Closing: 5:00pm, 3rd Mar 2019 AEDT
Job Description
The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a world-leading global consulting organisation. We are a trusted advisor to governments and organisations around the world, having been established as the world’s first ‘Nudge Unit’ in 2010.
We believe that if you understand how people make decisions in the real world, you can design and deliver better policies and services. So we draw on the lessons from the behavioural sciences to design creative, low cost and scalable solutions.
We are also committed to using and generating evidence, so we test out our insights using techniques like randomised controlled trials before they are scaled.
We work in a fast-paced and exciting environment in the Sydney CBD, but have a relaxed and non-hierarchical culture, which is due in part to the fact that we (the employees) part own the organisation. You can learn more about the team’s work here and more about our Sydney office here.
About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about achieving social impact through the use of behavioural insights and design.
The ideal candidate would have a design background, with strong research, communication and interpersonal skills.
Some understanding of the behavioural science literature is preferable but not a requirement.
Above all, we take pride in our values of social impact, empiricism and humility, fresh thinking, collaboration, and public service, and you will need to demonstrate a commitment to these.
What you will be doing
As our Design Lead, you will:
Be an advocate for service user needs and experience throughout solution design and delivery
Develop research plans, facilitate user tests and communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Support the planning and facilitation of co-design and capability building workshops with client partners.
Manage projects: from agreeing resourcing and deliverables, to problem solving and quality assurance.
Manage Associate Advisors and delegate project tasks.
Although the role is challenging, we provide a supportive environment where you can develop your skills and knowledge in this fast-evolving field. We offer flexible working arrangements and other policies to support the health and wellbeing of everyone on the team.
