Job summary

Championing the use of digital across the charity, you will lead on development and optimisation of our website in order to support the acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention of users across fundraising, services, and various marketing objectives.

You'll manage a programme of user experience and conversion rate optimisation work, plan and analyse user journeys, and devise and execute our SEO strategy. You will build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation to ensure our content and user experience are well-optimised and deliver results.

The person

You will be a talented and highly motivated web wizard, very well organised and an excellent communicator and people manager. You’ll have experience using content management systems, developing new website functionality, and experience managing effective supplier relationships. Your best friends will be Google Analytics and Tag Manager, and you’ll be proficient in using MS Excel and CRO/personalisation tools.

Experience in writing/editing website copy would also be advantageous.

You understand what it takes to deliver success and are able to think outside the box and be creative. As part of a team of passionate communicators, you will want to put Whizz Kidz firmly on the digital map.

Key accountabilities

  • Developing and executing SEO, PPC and social media advertising strategies that drive high-quality leads and relevant traffic to meet or exceed visits, lead generation and engagement targets.  

  • Perform keyword research for use in paid advertising and SEO activities using tools such as SEMrush 

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of the website, including creating new landing pages, blogs, and general site maintenance alongside refreshing and uploading content

  • Working across the charity to commission engaging content (hero, hub, hygiene) to convert and retain users from key priority audiences. Use website testing plans to improve conversion rates.  

  • Continually review and optimise user experience across the website to provide an excellent experience to the charity's service users and fundraisers, ensure information and content is accessible, and maximise engagement.  

  • Use a range of tools and platforms to regularly analyse various performances, produce reports and use key insights to improve user experience and conversion rates and influence broader marketing activity.  

  • Lead the building of email campaigns with supporting landing pages and forms, ensuring the messaging is aligned and creating a consistent and engaging user journey 

  • Lead on management of our external web agency, translating internal requirements into actionable briefs for new features and functionality. Be the day-to-day contact for all agency liaisons and digital freelancers, overseeing scheduled retainer time and prioritising work as required  

  • Work with the IT team to ensure our websites and microsites are fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  

  • Review new technologies and keep the charity at the forefront of developments in digital support.  

  • Represent Whizz-Kidz with external stakeholders and the wider community, building constructive relationships to further our work and income.  

  • Represent Whizz-Kidz at relevant industry events. On occasions, this may involve working unsocial hours.

  • Form effective working relationships with all colleagues members, volunteers and outside organisations as appropriate.

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that the policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety in the workplace are adhered to at all times.

  • Respect the confidentiality of data stored electronically and by other means in line with the Data Protection Act.

  • Not disclose to an unauthorised person any confidential information acquired through official duties unless they have received official permission to do so.
