Job Description

Job title: Brand Manager

Department: Marketing, Innovation & Sustainability

Reporting to: Head of Brand Marketing

Salary: A competitive salary is available plus great company benefits

Location: Flexible hybrid working, three days in office (Farringdon), two days working from home

Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

The Role:

We are looking for a Brand Manager (Core & Innovation) to support Little Moons' ambitious growth trajectory. In this role, you’ll help deliver best-in-class brand development, bold marketing communications, and consumer-delighting innovations that expand our base of premium ice cream shoppers.

This is a pivotal role that touches every part of our marketing mix, from building our global marketing plan to executing market activations, launching innovation, and owning our pack design. If you are a creative and strategic marketer with a passion for making brands thrive, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Brand Marketing to develop the global marketing plan and execute it with maximum impact, relentlessly seeking opportunities to create noise around the brand and expand our base of premium ice cream shoppers.

  • Work with our agency partners to develop bold, creative and effective creative assets and the media plans that get them in front of the right people.

  • Deliver multi-channel brand activations in key markets, working closely with the commercial, category and shopper marketing teams to identify opportunities and moving with speed to realise them.

  • Play an active leadership role in the process of developing innovation and managing it through the stage and gate process, acting as the ‘voice of the consumer’ in shaping solutions and launching with unrivalled impact.

  • Take responsibility for all pack design and artwork, from the development of new pack design for innovation through to the business-as-usual renovation of core artworks.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Marketing Planning

o   Work with the Head of Brand Marketing and colleagues responsible for our priority markets to support the development of both the global marketing plan and the market specific plans that flow from it.

o   Act as the lead for in-person activation (‘mochi in mouths’), ensuring best practice is developed and rolled out to all activations in each market investing in this growth driver.

o   Work with the Head of Brand Marketing and commercial, category and trade/shopper marketing colleagues to deliver best-in-class brand planning days to our key retail customers, galvanising them behind our marketing plans.

Communications Development

o   Work with the Head of Brand Marketing and our creative agency partners to brief, develop and execute exceptional creative assets that command an unfair share of attention.

o   Work with our media planning and buying agency to develop media plans that meet or exceed our brand objectives, building in thorough analysis of past learnings to ensure our approach is being continuously optimised.

o   Manage investment to agreed budgets, embodying our ‘be commercial’ value to ensure Little Moons maximises working spend.

Multi-Channel Brand Activations in Key Markets

o   With the agreement of the Head of Brand Marketing, take the lead in developing and delivering key activations (in the UK and beyond) in the agreed marketing plan.

o   Work closely with the wider brand, shopper/trade marketing and commercial teams to ensure seamless, end-to-end integration across all channels.

o   Support in-market teams outside of the UK with the delivery of activations on the ground, ensuring everything is executed to brand standard.

o   Ensure a campaign scorecard is developed before every activation and completed as soon as results are available, before distributing to key stakeholders with learnings for the future.

  Innovation Development

o   Act as project lead for innovation projects in the stage and gate process, working closely with the Product Change Manager and cross-functionally with the wider Little Moons team to shape innovation and effectively frame the decisions required from stakeholders at gate meetings.

o   Be the ‘voice of the consumer’ in the process, ensuring we design solutions to meet their needs in the target moment/occasion.  Regularly connect with consumers throughout the process to learn more about their needs and wants, test your assumptions and iterate the output.

o   Work with the category and commercial teams to ensure robust opportunity assessment is conducted for every innovation project, and that success is measured against the parameters established at key gates.

o   In conjunction with the commercial, category and trade/shopper marketing teams, lead the launch of innovation into market and deliver impact that exceeds investment.

Core Renovation and Pack Design

o   Take responsibility for all pack design and artwork, managing through everything from business-as-usual changes to the development of new artwork for innovation.

o   Continually seek out opportunities to simplify the business by consolidating pack artworks across languages and markets.

o   Work with the Head of Brand Marketing and category colleagues to develop clear portfolio architecture and ranging recommendations to retail customers in each of our 35+ markets, striving for global coherence and ‘fewer, bigger, better’ SKUs.
