Job Description
It is an incredibly exciting time for the Green Party, with expansion happening right across the staff team. The Communications Advisor to the Deputy Leaders is a brand-new role at the heart of that growth and excitement. It is mission-critical to making sure we harness the momentum of the current moment and ultimately achieve the next level of electoral success.
This role will be fast-paced and require someone with significant political experience. No two days will be the same and you will need to spend a good deal of time out on the road with the Deputy Leaders.
The Communications Advisor will sit within the Press team, while liaising closely with the leadership team as a whole. You will provide strategic, proactive, and reactive communications support to the deputy leaders of the Party, and be responsible for helping shape their public narrative, closely tied to the objectives of the wider party. As part of the press team, you will also from time to time provide support to other High Profile Greens, and be part of the national press team out of hours rota.
Day to day, this role will manage media relations, co-ordinate digital communications, and ensure consistent, effective engagement with stakeholders and national audiences. You will input into content creation including video and speech drafting.
The role requires excellent political judgement, top class writing skills, and the ability to operate effectively in an ever-changing and sensitive political environment.
