What you’ll be doing

In your role, you'll be focused on, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • People Development

  • Emerging Talent Programmes

  • Performance Enhancement and Management, and

  • Evaluation

You’ll also be line managing a small but mighty team, which will include providing direction, development opportunities, and proactively creating a space in which the team can maintain a whole-life balance. 

As part of the Finance & Operations team, you will also be involved in cross-directorate work and strategy delivery, as required.

People development

  • Promote and celebrate a culture of continuous and holistic learning and development, driving and developing the full B Lab UK learning provision.

  • Identify the skills required to deliver our strategy and develop an accessible and multi-method learning provision that upskills, reskills, and enhances performance.  

  • Working with the wider People and Culture team to create a holistic approach to developing inclusive, compassionate, and transformational leaders and line managers.

  • Create tailored and accessible communications to increase colleague engagement with learning and development activities.

  • Schedule and administer formal training, liaising with external providers and staff, including managing the budget.

Performance enhancement and management

  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure that the B Lab UK’s performance enhancement ethos is embedded at all levels within the organisation, partnering where necessary to ensure that clear, consistent and empowering development and career conversations are available to all staff.

  • Develop communications and resources to enable timely completion of performance enhancement-based activities.

  • Embed a future-focused, impact-oriented competency framework that underpins a values-based culture.

  • Work with the Head of People and Culture to embed succession planning and talent management culturally through bi-annual Performance Enhancement reviews and career development pathways.

Emerging talent programmes

  • Oversee the development of emerging talent programmes that enable career development for current and future colleagues, which includes apprenticeships, internships, graduate programmes, etc.

Evaluation

  • Monitor learning programmes investment and evaluate the impact of the training initiatives, collecting and analysing data to measure outcomes and make data-informed recommendations.

  • Propose and develop the best metrics that would allow quarterly and annual reports to capture training needs, what has been delivered, the impact of what has been delivered and analysis.

  • Design and facilitate workshops on a range of subjects 

  • Embed a positive, proactive approach to performance enhancement in which colleagues are empowered to own their own learning journey.

  • Collate and analyse data, information, and research, to produce written reports on impact and recommendations.

  • Communicate effectively

  • Stay organised in a high-pace environment

  • Use IT platforms like Google Workspace and Asana
