Job Description
Role Summary
The Challenge Events Officer will work closely with the Community and Challenge Events Manager (CCEM) and Fundraising and Engagement Assistant (FEA) to deliver significant elements of the charity’s fundraising strategy, in particular our challenge events. The post holder will be responsible for recruitment, management and stewardship of our existing challenge event portfolio to increase income in an area which has seen significant growth.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising and managing relationships
Keep up to date in sector trends, especially in your area, and feedback to the broader fundraising team.
Contribute to the charity’s Fundraising Strategy, in relation to Challenge Events Fundraising.
Expand our existing challenge events portfolio with high quality virtual and in person events.
Work with the Communications team to keep the challenge events fundraising pages of the website up to date, and to create and promote digital fundraising resources.
Work with the Communications team to create social media content and engaging adverts and campaigns.
Create a schedule and content for marketing emails.
Alongside the CCEM and Fundraising and Engagement Manager (FEM), recruit, induct, train and support events volunteers.
Create materials to support our Challenge Event fundraisers.
Engage and inspire staff and volunteers to share and support our challenge event initiatives.
Maintain effective communications and good relations with donors and volunteers, keeping them updated on our work and achievements.
Update our fundraising database, ThankQ, ensuring accurate and useful recording.
Ensure all Challenge Event fundraising activity is fully compliant with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards.
Cross-organisational Role
Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.
Work particularly closely with colleagues in the Communications team, optimising opportunities for joint working, especially to promote challenge events to maximise their potential.
Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies.
Work with the fundraising and engagement team and wider organisation when launching challenge events.
Other Duties
Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it.
Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times.
Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times.
Undertake other tasks as required by the CCEM, DFE or CEO.
Work flexible hours as necessary to meet the needs of the charity. Time off in lieu will be earnt for work outside of normal working hours.
