This project will involve
Political study of the space sector – how well discussed is it across Parliament (debates, select committees, written and oral questions etc…)
Refreshing the stakeholder mapping, and outlining priority stakeholders to engage (those with a space interest, constituency MPs, supply
Developing a series of questions that can be fed into key stakeholders and influencers to raise within Parliamentary activities incl. oral Questions
During this internship, a successful candidate will provide insight into the political landscape of the space sector, and how it is viewed. A successful intern will build their understanding how space policy is developed, and the role of Whitehall and Parliament within the UK space sector.
The successful applicant should have the following qualities and abilities:
Academic:
Studying political science, economics, law, business or other relevant area.
Minimum requirements:
Passionate about space and Astroscale’s mission to make space safe, sustainability and secure.
Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree
Available full-time during the summer
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Good interpersonal, organisational, and written/verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to collect, evaluate and synthesize multiple sources of information, e.g. articles and research papers
Analytical mindset and strong qualitative skills – ability to think critically and creatively
Desirable requirements:
Relevant previous internships or project experience
Process details:
8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate
5 days holiday to be taken during the placement
