What you’ll do as a Business Analyst

  • be aware of user needs and familiar with writing high quality user stories to reflect these needs

  • Map business processes, identify associated costs and pain points as well as opportunities to improve them.

  • help identify, define, and manage the objectives of a business and will specify requirements from both a business and user perspective

  • work with a range of stakeholders, tailoring communication to their needs, and work with teams to build relationships while also meeting user needs

  • help define test conditions, identify issues and risks associated with work while being able to analyse and report test activities and results

  • collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (including policy people, product people, user researchers and technical architects) to help understand user needs and develop solutions to meet those needs

  • support the development of robust business cases - help to identify and analyse potential benefits, options for achieving those benefits and associated business risks

  • understand the difference between user needs and the desires of the user

What we’re looking for

  • experience of working as a business analyst or a related profession

  • demonstrable experience in process modelling and requirements gathering

  • experience of managing internal and external stakeholders

  • good presentation, facilitation and communication skills

  • experience of being an active collaborator, who can work effectively with user researchers and product managers

  • problem solving skills that will support decision-making
