About the Role

Reporting to Senior Media Associate - Bronte McHenry

Startmate is looking to hire a Community Events Coordinator to activate and engage the Startmate community and broader startup ecosystem through a year-round events program, spanning both virtual and IRL (across Australia and New Zealand) environments. These events are a pivotal part of our media and outreach strategy, and contribute to the broader company vision of making Australia and New Zealand the best place in the world to build a startup.

Over the past year, Startmate’s community has grown exponentially. We want to supercharge connections across the ecosystem and grow Startmate’s impact through an annual series of strategic online and offline events. You will drive the strategy and implementation of our events activities, with a focus on increasing engagement with Startmate’s range of programs, and strengthening relationships across the Startmate alumni community.

Here is a brief overview of some examples of work you will commandeer:

  • Creating a highly strategic year-round events calendar to feed targeted leads into the Startmate outreach funnel, including tracking success metrics related to each event

  • End-to-end planning and executing large-scale in-person events, such as Demo Day

  • Planning and executing virtual conferences and flagship events

  • Planning and facilitating social events both in person and online to bring different parts of our community together

  • Where relevant, engaging partner organisations or sponsors to support event activities

  • Working closely with the outreach team to increase opportunities for exposure, and create unique content post-event
