Job Description

In the role of Wilderness Medicine Staffing Specialist, you will work within a team of three other coordinators who share responsibility of designing and implementing the Wilderness Medicine staffing plan for 1000+ courses annually. Along with your colleagues, you will provide resources and support to 300+ wilderness medicine faculty across the U.S. and globally.

    What does a Staffing Specialist do?

This role is in our Wilderness Medicine Staffing Team. You will be involved in the following activities:

  • Schedule and support Wilderness Medicine faculty

  • Create and send instructor contracts

  • Develop and implement seasonal staffing plans

  • Collaborate with Wilderness Medicine teams to ensure efficient staffing plans

  • Manage systems for monitoring instructor performance

  • Work with the Logistics Coordinator on travel plans for all instructors

  • Communicate with faculty via informal open door policy, phone, and email

In your first 6 months, you will: 

  • Build and support Rolling Staffing Plan for Wilderness First Aid (WFA) courses 

  • Show care and value to staff through internal initiatives

  • Collect and organize feedback from instructors and collaborate with stakeholders to improve systems

  • Take on organizational projects as directed by the Wilderness Medicine Staffing Director or Manager
