Job Description
We are looking for an Advisor to join our Advisory team, responsible for guiding and supporting our members through their philanthropy. As an Advisor you will provide our members with portfolios of grant recommendations that fit their values and priorities while optimising for recommendations to the highest-impact funding opportunities that are able to have outsized impact. You will be well positioned to influence and inspire our members – CEOs, founders and investors with significant philanthropic capital – to give more and give better through your expert advice.
Your primary focus will be serving our members based in EMEA and you will report into our Chief Experience Officer based in the UK. You will join a global Advisory team, alongside Advisors serving our members’ philanthropy across the 40+ countries in which our members live, and will have the opportunity to collaborate with other global teams within our Member Experience function that covers our members’ entire journey with Founders Pledge.
You will be responsible for:
Building and managing relationships with a portfolio of EMEA-based members, working with them to establish their philanthropic priorities and developing high-impact portfolios to guide their giving
Providing expert philanthropic advice to those within our membership such that they are well-prepared to maximise the impact of their giving.
Representing Founders Pledge and our approach to high-impact philanthropy at our events where appropriate, which include dinners, retreats and webinars
Developing high-quality materials and communication assets that inspire members to engage with the Advisory service and stay engaged within their time-bound Advisory journey
Working cross-functionally with other member-facing teams to ensure seamless and exceptional member stewardship that leads to high-impact giving
This role is perfect for someone who is deeply driven and excited by the opportunity to influence the deployment of significant levels of philanthropic capital held by tech entrepreneurs to the interventions and charities that can have outsized impact and truly change the world for the better.
You will have experience in an advisory capacity to HNWIs, perhaps through Philanthropic Advising, Major Gifts stewardship, Wealth Management or similar professions, and your ability to build trusted relationships and inspire action from your clients will set you apart in this role.
To be successful in this role, you will understand the importance of being cause-neutral in your advisory practice and you will be aligned with our approach to high-impact philanthropy. You will be passionate about learning more about our research and can bring that enthusiasm and passion into your interactions with our members.
You will need to have:
Relevant direct or transferrable experience in advising HNW individuals (or CEOs) in philanthropy, investments, businesses or complex family dynamics
The ability to quickly build peer-level, trusting relationships with our membership of tech CEOs, HNWIs, founders and investors
Experience influencing stakeholders and a comfort in holding space for positive and productive challenge that leads to positive outcomes
A service-oriented approach and flexibility in your working style to meet the needs of our members as well as our goals as an organisation
Experience digesting, communicating and leveraging complex information and quantitative reports clearly and persuasively
Ideally business fluency in German and/or French (nice to have but not crucial)
