Job Description

The Ministry of Manpower is looking for an exceptional individual to join them as a data analyst or senior data analyst with Co-Lab.

Co-Lab is a multi-disciplinary team that creates human-centric and data-driven policies, with data analytics, design and behavioural insights.

This role involves applying data science to transform employment market practices and improve the lives of employers, employees and fellow MOM officers. The candidate will work with MOM departments and GovTech to design, implement and manage a variety of business analytics solutions.

The ideal candidate would have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Operations Research, or related disciplines, with experience in:

  • Translating business problems into mathematical models

  • Machine learning and statistical techniques with expertise in at least 1 domain (machine learning, text mining, graph mining, time series mining, optimization)

  • Analytical tools such as R and Python

  • Data manipulation using scripting languages

Related experiences will be an added advantage:

  • SQL progamming language

  • IT software development and architecture

  • Distributed or stream computing (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka)
