ABOUT US:

YOUR ROLE:

As an Intern, you’ll be a key part of our team working on real-life client projects. You will gain exposure to social research and evaluation, as well as other key skills such as project management, IT, and quantitative and qualitative research techniques. In addition, you will gain a good understanding of what a career in social research and evaluation might entail, what is needed to progress, as well as exposure to a range of different policy areas.

As an intern you’ll gain experience of the basic research and evaluation process, for example through:

• Preparing and updating project plans

• Checking questionnaire scripts and data files

• Developing data code frames and data table specifications

• Undertaking evidence reviews

• Looking for patterns and stories in data

• Involvement in development and checking of client presentations/ report structures

• Working effectively with team members and suppliers

• Company operating practices and quality processes

• Quantitative research methods (face-to-face, telephone, online, mobile)

• Qualitative research skills including note taking at depth interviews and discussion groups

• Evaluation skills (process, impact, economic)

• Experience with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

• The knack of thinking on your feet and not be afraid to express your ideas
