The Opportunity
We have an opening for a Field Health and Safety Advisor in our Health and Safety team. Our preference is to have this position located in North Dakota but we are open to candidates from Denver with the understanding regular travel to North Dakota is required. This role has accountability for monitoring and continuously improving the safe working behaviors of both Enerplus employees and Contractor Partners. This role will also have extensive knowledge to support operations teams in oil and gas, exploration, and production. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate expertise in executing various safety programs and trainings. As a member of this team, you will be the contact point for various internal and external stakeholders, so your communication and interpersonal skills should be excellent.
What You Will Do
Facilitate contractor audits of required safety programs and variance requests
Actively manage contractor safety performance
Work with operations teams to develop corrective actions for contractor audit findings
Participate in contractor safety reviews
Regularly manage concurrent projects and assignments
Represent work group on cross-discipline projects
Provide sound input and recommendations to team and management
Develop a variety of business documents and deliver presentations that illustrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of information
The Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in Oil and Gas
High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
What You Bring
Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other federal and state-applicable industry regulations
Strong working knowledge of EHS Management Systems
Proficiency with Microsoft products such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams
Strong working knowledge and experience in production operations and land-based drilling and completions
Ability to provide support, advice, and assistance to business partners in their day-to-day operations
A strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills, to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, vendors, and regulators
Ability to meet deadlines and produce results under tight time constraints
