Job Description

The Executive Secretariat of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market is seeking to appoint up to three skilled carbon market professionals to join its remote team. The role could be right for you if your profile includes one or more of the following:

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of carbon markets and climate change, with experience managing climate-related processes and technical documents in a secretariat environment;

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Nature-based Solutions, forest carbon and REDD+ processes and initiatives;

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of methodologies for quantifying emissions reductions and removals from the energy and waste sectors.

In this role you will provide technical expertise to support both the assessment of categories of carbon credits and carbon crediting programs against our Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) and Assessment Framework, and contribute to the process to develop future iterations of the Assessment Framework. The role involves working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to support the work of various committees and working groups by providing detailed research and analysis, along with other related tasks.

To succeed you will be a pragmatic, action-oriented team player with a deep understanding of carbon markets and assessment methodologies. You will be a self-starter and comfortable working collaboratively with partners and colleagues across multiple time zones, and possess strong client and stakeholder engagement skills. As part of a small and dynamic team you will also need to be flexible and willing to support the wider activities of the Integrity Council as required.  There is considerable opportunity to help shape this role as the Integrity Council grows, and to develop skills across a range of different areas.

  • Supporting the work of the Assurance team to identify and address possible issues relating to the use of the CCP label.

This is an exciting and fast paced role and as the Integrity Council is a start-up, you must be willing to work flexibly and take on additional duties, as required.
