Job Description

Good Business is a market-leading sustainability agency, a certified B-Corporation and one of Escape the City’s Top 100 Employers. We help business and brands succeed in the future by showing that they can make it a better place to be. We have over 20 years’ experience of working with clients to deliver sustainability, behaviour change and social impact, making us pioneers of the power of good.

We are looking for an experienced Consultant to join our team based in our London office.

This is an exciting role for someone who wants to apply their skills to help businesses, brands, government and NGOs tackle some of the biggest social and environmental challenges of our time. How can we encourage young men to talk about their mental health issues? How do we bring together the cafes and restaurants at a major international airport to improve their sustainability impacts? How quickly should a communications company move towards a zero carbon future, and how can it do that?

Our clients, who include household names such as Just Eat, Abel & Cole, Virgin Media, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, NatWest Group, Aesop, and The Coca-Cola Company, as well as social enterprises, charities, foundations, local authorities and start-ups, look to us to help them solve these challenges.

You will be involved in a wide variety of client-focused assignments from the outset, working closely with our other consultants and our senior leadership team. You will work on projects ranging from strategy development, to data analysis, to branding and communications, as well as developing social marketing and behaviour change strategies. It’s a fast-paced environment that requires people who are flexible, adaptable and willing to do what is needed to get the job done.

Your academic background and work experience so far is less important than your skills and abilities, and your willingness to learn fast and take on new challenges. You will be an accomplished communicator, who enjoys analysing problems, solving them collaboratively and creatively, and then putting solutions into practice. You will be as comfortable coming up with innovative solutions that create value for our clients and for society, and you will be able to present these persuasively in engaging and inspiring ways.

We have a relaxed and collaborative office culture and although our outputs are very professional, our structure and approach is far from corporate or conventional. Our team is passionate, thoughtful and opinionated, and come from a variety of backgrounds such as science, advertising, history and economics.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has previous experience in a professional environment, ideally with experience of client and project management

  • has a proven interest in business, current affairs and social and environmental issues

  • has exceptional written, verbal, analytical and communication skills, as well as a proven ability to develop and implement strategies

  • has a good understanding of social media and digital channels

  • has excellent research skills, and can apply these from the outset

Foreign language skills, particularly major European languages, are desirable but not essential.

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.

If we receive a high number of applications, we will review one of the three tasks first, and use that as a way of determining which applications we will give further consideration to. For this reason, you may only receive a feedback score on one of the tasks you complete if your application is unsuccessful.
