Job Description

The role

As part of the Outreach and Insight Team, you will be responsible for conducting data and information gathering and analysis on a wide variety of topics related to the OIA’s work. You will be tasked with the creation and updating of Power BI reporting, dashboards and other data visualisation for internal use.

You will collect and analyse information from inside and outside the OIA with the purpose of generating insight to ensure that our overall outreach, engagement and communication strategies are evidence-based.

You will provide colleagues across the organisation with the information they need to engage with stakeholders, on a wide variety of issues. As such it is a highly collaborative role, working across the organisation to understand what colleagues need to know.

You will work closely with the Insight Manager to identify areas for exploration and research to develop insights relevant to the work of the OIA. You will prioritise areas for exploration, taking into account organisational and team priorities, remain focused on tangible outputs from the exploration of data, and consider areas for further development of our data and insight capabilities.

Once the need for analysis of particular information is established, you will work to deliver this in an appropriate and comprehensible format. You will be responsible for ensuring a very high level of accuracy and clarity, ensuring that colleagues can rely upon what is presented.

The job and person specification can be found here and you can find more information about applying and working with us on our website.

Application and Selection

At the OIA we use Applied for our recruitment. Applied aims to overcome unconscious bias in recruiting. Instead of using your CV alone, we'll be asking you to answer questions to test skills needed for the role. The responses are then anonymised, and reviewed in a random order by members of our team.

Candidates should be aware that we are using generative AI (via Applied), to review candidates’ use of AI within applications. Any use of AI detected within your application will be flagged and may affect the progress of your application.

Interviews will be scheduled from the week commencing 13 April 2026 or the week commencing 20 April 2026, and will be in-person at our office in Reading.

All successful candidates will start at the salary point shown and this is non-negotiable. Minimum office attendance of one day a week is mandatory and more attendance will be required during your probationary period (6 months).

If you need any adjustments to this process because of a health condition or disability please contact the recruitment team.
