Job Description

Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Heritage Gateway Manager.
This is a full time, permanent role.
The location of this role is either York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth or London, inclusive with hybrid working.

What you will be doing
Historic England is responsible for the Heritage Gateway, the only place where you can search across national and local heritage information datasets to find an overview of England’s historic environment. We are ready to launch a new Heritage Gateway to replace the existing outdated website. The new website brings national and local heritage data into a single, standardised and more reliable system, it offers a redesigned, accessible search experience on the Historic England website with standardised data, improved filtering and mapping tools and more consistent results for users.
You will be responsible for maintaining data submission and agreements to the new Heritage Gateway for national and local dataset providers, and act as a communication bridge between data resource providers and Historic England’s technical teams. As Product Owner for the Heritage Gateway, you will work with Digital Engagement colleagues to support ongoing development of the website, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with stakeholder and business needs.
You will need to work collaboratively across Historic England departments, and with external partners, to ensure an effective interchange of information, guidance and advice.
