The Co-production Manager is a fantastic opportunity to manage the co-production programme of work at Turn2us, which is closely aligned with the charity’s aim of tackling financial insecurity. This will involve developing and evaluating co-production programmes and advising colleagues on how to embed co-production into all their work.   

You will bring experience of designing and implementing co-production practices into organisations along with a strong understanding of the diverse communities where financial insecurity exists and the need for our work to be inclusive and safe.  

You will be able to demonstrate strong project management as well as facilitation skills to be able to run workshops both in person and online. You’ll also need experience in working collaboratively with colleagues to help the charity drive organisational change.  

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working.

Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.

Job Title: Co-production Manager

Department: Inclusion Team, People, Culture & Governance Directorate

Reports to: Head of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB)

Location: Hybrid: Turn2us London Hub (Farringdon) & homeworking

Type of role: Full-time, permanent

Purpose of the Role:

The Co-production Manager is responsible for the management of our co-production programmes, working closely with the Head of EDIB to align our work with our mission to tackle financial insecurity. This involves refining co-production frameworks and developing organisation-wide policies and tools. The postholder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to consolidate learning and evaluate the impact of various co-production approaches.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Developing and implementing co-production programme.

2. Managing, developing and implementing co-production policies and practice.

3. Promoting EDIB and safeguarding principles across all our co-production work.

4. Managing and building strong working relationship with new and existing Co-production Partners.

5. Advising and supporting colleagues across Turn2us on embedding co-production in their work.

Duties:

1.     Management of co-production programme:

  • Manage the co-production programme ensuring our co-production policies and practice align with our vision and strategic objectives.

  • Oversee a positive experience of Co-production Partners with Turn2us through effective relationship management, communications and two-way engagement.

  • Work closely with teams across Turn2us to embed co-production practices in our work.

  • Manage daily operations to ensure quality in co-production outputs.

  • Analyse and act on key reports related to our programmes, services and internal culture to improve our co-production practices.

2.     Managing, developing and implementing co-production policies and practice:

  • Regularly review and update the co-production framework, toolkit, policies, and other key documents to ensure they accurately reflect the evolving nature of co-production work.

  • Lead the development and delivery of co-production training for staff, focusing on embedding a collective understanding and practical application of co-production at Turn2us.

  • Design and develop tools and resources to drive best practice.

  • Manage the creation of robust evaluation framework for co-production activities, ensuring these measures accurately assess impact and align with our objectives.

  • Ensure we adhere to legal and ethical standards in all aspects of co-production, safeguarding the integrity of our work.

3.     Promote EDIB and Safeguarding principles across all our co-production work:

  • Advocate for safe and inclusive co-production practices.

  • Work with the Head of EDIB to develop innovative strategies for attracting a diverse range of co-production partners to broaden representation, bring in new perspectives and ideas, and enhance the overall effectiveness of co-production projects. 

  • Work with the Safeguarding Manager to ensure the safety of co-production activities and jointly manage the co-production risk register.

  • Align co-production with the wider Inclusion portfolio for consistent practices.

  • Contribute to the integrated inclusion offer project, bringing insights from co-production partners to inform our works of working.

4.     Manage and build strong working relations with new and existing Co-production Partners: 

  • Act as the first point of contact for Co-production Partners at Turn2us.

  • Champion a workplace culture that empowers and values Co-Production Partners, encouraging open dialogue and ensuring they feel confident in seeking support or raising concerns.

  • Chair the Co-production Partner monthly meetings and explore strategies for increasing engagement and participation.

  • Oversee all communications with Co-production Partners, including sharing regular updates on projects via the monthly newsletter and informing them about development, learning, and training opportunities.

  • Work with Co-production Partners and the Communications function to design and launch campaigns that advocate for co-production both internally and externally, leveraging their insights, experiences, and expertise of working in co-production.

  • Actively seek opportunities to recognise and celebrate the contributions of Co-production Partners, reinforcing their importance to Turn2us and its mission.

These are the normal duties, which the Charity requires from the position. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and all employees will be required from time to time to perform other duties as may be required by the Charity for the efficient running of the charity. This Job Description is non-contractual. It will be reviewed from time to time and may be subject to change.

Skills:

  • Project and change management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to analyse complex data and translate findings into actionable insights.

  • Skilled in communicating complex information into plain English to diverse audiences.

  • Proficient in using IT and CRM systems.

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of co-production principles and practices and application of co-production methodologies to drive inclusive practice.

  • Knowledge of the scope of civil society and social justice movements.

  • Familiarity with legal and ethical standards in co-production.

  • Awareness of diverse community needs and inclusive and safe practices.

  • Understanding of the causes and effects of poverty and financial hardship in the UK.

Experience:

  • Experience in managing co-production initiatives and driving organisational change.

  • Background in developing and implementing organisation wide policies and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex projects and working collaboratively with others.

  • Track record in effective budget and resource management.

  • Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience of managing safeguarding concerns.   

  • Experience of facilitating workshops in person and online.
