Job Description
Project Description:
Knowledge is key to our work, and we have built a highly capable team of engineers and support staff across a number of specialisms and disciplines. We want to build a company knowledge base that can be used by our team to augment knowledge transfer, streamline collaboration and maintain our quality standards across a variety of complex, innovative projects. Integrating an AI bot into this knowledge base would provide a natural language interface for team members and allow the bot to learn continually and contribute to the knowledge base through its interactions with the team.
In this placement, you will develop this AI-powered knowledge base which can integrate into our company ecosystem. The knowledge base will be accessible via a chatbot which can interact with team members, sharing knowledge with them and learning from them and other supplied information in turn. The chatbot will be tested, exploring its ability to be accurate, truthful and useful. The chatbot will initially be siloed, with access to a limited set of data. An assessment of security risk will be performed in collaboration with our IT security team, following which the chatbot may be integrated into our full ecosystem.
Most importantly, you will help us choose a name for this nascent chatbot.

We are currently developing the OPS-SAT Versatile Optical Laboratory for Telecoms (VOLT) mission for ESA. This mission brings together all of our satellite technologies and, along with key partners in the UK and beyond, delivers a platform which can be used by the European community for the testing of optical telecoms payloads, software and services.
