About the Role

Very Great is seeking a Director of Growth to lead our Growth team. If you are looking for the opportunity to grow and engage audiences with fashion forward pet owners, design-loving wireless charging consumers and customers who crave sustainable kitchen essentials, this is the role for you!

As the Director of Growth, you will play a pivotal role in steering e-commerce growth and performance strategies. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, you will lead a cross-functional team encompassing data analysis, paid/performance marketing, customer experience, and lifecycle management/email marketing. You'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of our brands, driving revenue targets while optimizing e-commerce performance for efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in e-commerce/DTC, with a background in paid media management, proficiency in data management, and CRM (email/SMS) channel experience.

This role reports to the VP of Marketing and is based in NYC

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to develop and execute e-commerce growth strategies, setting and achieving revenue targets efficiently that align with overall business objectives

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the e-commerce function, ensuring seamless execution and optimization

  • Collaborate with data analyst to derive insights, inform strategies, and continuously optimize performance

  • Lead the customer service and experience team to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty

  • Partner with the lifecycle and email manager to implement effective engagement and retention strategies, utilizing segmentation and personalization

  • Oversee external contractors handling paid media on Meta, TikTok, and Google, while planning for the in-housing of these roles later in 2024

  • Collaborate closely with the web team to deploy campaigns and strategies with maximum impact; support A/B testing and CRO strategies for web to drive improvements to baseline performance

  • Support wholesale and Amazon channels in the business with data and strategy

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to inform strategy

About You

  • 6+ years of experience in e-commerce/DTC, demonstrating a proven track record of driving growth

  • Expertise in managing strategy/execution of paid media across platforms (Meta, TikTok, and Google experience required)

  • Deep understanding of the customer journey in e-commerce, and how to develop experiences that influence buying behaviors

  • Familiarity with Amazon and experience in navigating its unique dynamics

  • Proficiency in using data warehouses, analytics tools, and CRM systems

  • Experienced people leader who thrives in a highly collaborative and cross functional environment

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from data, and tie revenue impacts back to insights

  • A strategic thinker with a focus on efficiency and profitability

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment

  • Passion for the consumer goods industry, with an understanding of evolving market trends

Total Rewards Package

The annual base salary range for this position is between $120,000- $150,000
