About Us

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a social purpose company that combines two approaches to improve people’s lives and communities. First, we use behavioural science (behavioural economics, social psychology) to design new policy ideas with our partners. Second, we run policy experiments, often using randomised controlled trials (RCTs), to determine the effectiveness of those ideas. BIT is a trusted advisor to government departments and agencies, NGOs, and other major funders in Singapore and throughout Asia.

About the Role

As the Project Support Officer, you will have two key areas of responsibility: 

  • Assisting our advisory team to manage projects in our internal systems and keep projects on budget 

  • Contributing to the delivery of projects, utilising your coordination, planning and organisational skills

Based in Singapore but supporting a decentralised team, you will work closely with our Advisor team and the Operations team. Our APAC team currently has staff in Singapore, Australia, and Indonesia. You will also occasionally work with staff in our London head office.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support (50%)

  • Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate and manage projects and internal business processes.

  • Conduct regular project planning & review meetings to ensure project plans are up to date, project budgets are well managed, and resources are allocated as required.

  • Take necessary actions and escalate when required.

  • Create reports as requested by senior management.

  • Review individual staff resourcing and escalate if staff have too little or too much work assigned.

  • Plan, track, and manage project costs, ensuring planned costs are forecast accurately and reflected correctly in project planning and finance systems.

  • Provide project leads with project performance information when requested.

  • Review/manage contract terms and dates and manage contract extensions/modifications as necessary.

Project Coordination (50%)

  • Assist project teams with administrative tasks and project delivery or implementation tasks as needed.

  • Schedule fieldwork/interviews for research activities.

  • Coordinate project meetings or workshops as required.

  • Take notes in meetings and follow up on actions.

  • Assist project leads in coordinating external stakeholders in complex projects.

  • Provide on-the-ground support for project events.

  • Contribute to bid writing/proposal development.

  • Intermediate skills in all MS Office programs, especially in MS Excel, as well as Google suite of programs (Gmail, Drive, Meet, Sheets & Docs)

Experience

  • 3-5 years in an administration and/or coordination role, preferably (but not necessarily) in a small business or consulting or professional services firm 

  • Confidence with IT, including Google Suite, Slack
