Who we are looking for
Have you developed and monitored organisation-wide Operating Plans? Do you have a successful track record of leading complex planning projects?
We are looking for a talented planning professional to join our organisation as the Strategy and Planning Associate Director. This is a newly created role as we expand our Strategy team. You’ll design and launch a new organisational Planning Cycle to monitor progress against our Operating Plan, and provide thought partnership to senior leaders, supporting them to make strong plans to achieve our charitable objectives.
In addition to overseeing our Operating Plan, you’ll collaborate with the wider Strategy team to develop a plan for our long-term strategy and scope new organisation-wide projects to position us to achieve our long-term objectives.
Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Acting Director, Strategy. In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days. This is subject to review.
Other responsibilities you can expect from your new role includes leading the forward-planning of Executive Committee agendas around upcoming whole-organisation decisions in line with the Operating Plan, embedding planning best practice across the organisation, and collaborating with HR/Finance to inform budgeting and workforce planning processes.
Some skills and experience that will help you succeed are being a proactive and skilled operational and strategic planner, strong attention to detail, and a great communicator at all levels.
