About the Role
We are a tight-knit creative team looking to bring on a talented Retoucher, to work closely with our visual media and brand teams. Your projects will include detailed retouching, color correction, resizing, and delivery of image files. Images will be used across a variety of platforms including web, e-commerce, digital marketing assets, social media, etc. This role will also be responsible for maintaining our digital asset organization system, including file naming conventions and multiple size outputs.
This role reports into the Director of Photography, and can be fully remote or work out of our NYC co-working spaces (must be US-based).
Responsibilities
Retouching product photography, e-commerce, lifestyle, editorial/campaign, packaging and still life images; masking, compositing, creating shadows, cleaning, cloning, and cropping
Executing brand retouching direction across all imagery, building upon knowledge with each project to limit retouching review rounds
Use non-destructive retouching best practices
Color correcting, ensuring color consistency between image assets
Frequency separation, comfortable working with skin textures and tones
QA color execution on brand product photography
Methods for finding dust, scratches, imperfections, etc that are not readily seen with the eye
Apply critical thinking skills to solve problems and adapt with changing workflow
Track progress of all ongoing projects
Maintain image archive and digital asset organization in accordance with established processes
About You
Experience in Photography, Graphic Design, or specific education in digital photographic imaging principles and techniques, or a related field
2-4 years of experience working in a high volume retouching house or photo studio
Experience with product and still life retouching and post production.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, and Capture One
Ability to multitask, attention to detail and organization skills
Strong and polished retouching skills – keen eye and aesthetic
