Job Description

The Purchasing Assistant Manager & Retail Coordinator assists the Purchasing Manager in the day-to-day operation of the purchasing department. As a Retail Coordinator, responsibilities include the daily operations of NOLS retail sales, responding to customer service requests, inventory management, website maintenance, and financial reporting.

What does a Purchasing Assistant Manager and Retail Coordinator do?

You will be involved in the following activities

  • Assist Purchasing Manager purchase equipment, office supplies, etc

  • Customer Service and maintenance of Online store orders, products, and software.

  • Responsible for cross-training in the mailroom and other duties as assigned.

  • Communicates with vendors, customers, internal location staff, and Finance.

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to place product orders and find new products for the online store.

  • Receive product orders for online store and international locations.

  • Educate NOLS staff and external contacts on procedures.

  • Previous experience in Purchasing/ Retail Sales

  • Ability to work closely in a team/group setting

  • Maintains positive and productive relationships with internal and external audiences.

  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Must be proficient with spreadsheet applications and retail store applications.

  • Requires strong organizational, computer, communication skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Business Center and Shopify software preferred. 

  • Knowledge of or NOLS experience preferred.

  • Ability to enter data accurately and strong attention to detail
