Job Description

BACKGROUND

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons.  Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.

JOB PURPOSE

Magic Breakfast is going through a Digital and Data Transformation to leverage operational insights into the reporting and decision making of the organisation.  We are promoting a data driven culture within the organisation by developing, integrating, and governing visual analytics and BI into routine practices within the organisation.

We are seeking a proactive Data Executive to provide support and maintenance for all databases within Magic Breakfast with particular focus on our Salesforce CRM. The postholder will support the Data Analytics Manager to continually improve and enhance the CRM platform, the role will include all aspects of user management including support requests, training, and designing solutions with user satisfaction as a priority.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and a desire to keep learning. The postholder should be comfortable liaising with users and enjoy learning new business processes to translate them into technical solutions.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data cleaning and uploading of large amounts of data into the CRM and other systems using appropriate tools

  • Set up suitable monitoring procedures to review data quality and ensure accuracy

  • Work with internal stakeholders to build and update survey forms and connectors to Salesforce in line with business requirements

  •  Deliver user training to internal staff, develop and keep user training documentation and training videos updated

  •   Salesforce configuration changes, including but not limited to: fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards and reports

  •  Send out mass emails with accuracy

  • General maintenance of Salesforce CRM including working with internal teams to clean unused fields, remove duplicate records, and improve the user experience

  •  Dealing with support requests from staff in a timely manner

  •  Learn systems and stay updated on upgrades and procedural changes

  •   Identify and gather requirements from users and stakeholders

  •  Assist in developing Salesforce workflow solutions based on user needs

  • Prioritise and balance multiple data tasks at once

  •   Administrative duties such as database administration updates

  • Communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation

  •  Contribute to other IT projects where relevant, including, but not limited to Data Warehouse project

  •  Ensure confidentiality of information by keeping confidential data private and secure.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge and Experience

  •   Ideally one year or more of Salesforce Administrator experience, the Salesforce ADM certificate is desirable but not essential.

  •   Experience of Form Assembly and its Salesforce connector is desirable Experience working with Microsoft Office 365

  •   Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis and/or descriptive statistics, and the ability to synthesise data into a clear and concise written narrative report is desirable

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Power Platforms is desirable.

  • Solutions focused with the ability to problem solve and willingness to follow issues through to resolution

  • Comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and proposing solutions with Salesforce as a highly customisable platform

  •  Strong numeracy, analytical and organisational skills, with a high attention to detail

  •  Experience of working for a charity, especially in the area of children and young people, desirable but not essential

  •  Adhere to all Magic Breakfast policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that all activity is compliant with current legislation, GDPR and child safeguarding requirements

  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role
