Job Description

Project Description:

URA is transitioning from small company, working solely on R&D to an SME who is commercialising our products.

We are due to have thrusters fly on a spacecraft for the first time in 2024, and, when that is successful will look to sell thrusters commercially.

Our website is out of date and needs to be refreshed to reflect the current products available with the latest information and a more modern, easy to follow, layout.

We would welcome a SPIN placement who wanted a stand-alone project that they will know will make a difference and be useful for years to come to join us and perform this task

What you will learn in this role:

• Experience with “front-line” work with significant responsibilities in a space industry SME at the forefront of space technology developments in the UK.

• Knowledge of EN9100 and ISO9001 certification,

• Improve interpersonal and team-working skills with a young, multicultural, multi-skilled and passionate team.

• Improve problem solving skills in short timescales.

• Knowledge of different space systems: Spaceflight, space propulsion: thrusters, electronics, fluidics, diagnostics, space mechanisms, exploration and interplanetary missions, etc.

• Full development of a company website, following branding guidelines

Minimum requirements:

- Web design skills.

- Excellent writing skills

- Excellent design skills

- Good communication skills

- Right to work in the UK.

Process details:

  • 8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate. We are happy to discuss a longer internship

  • In-person Induction Event to be held on 24th June 2024, and an in-person/hybrid Showcase Event to be held TBD

  • 2 days holiday per month to be taken during the placement
