Job Description

The Company

Usborne is an independent, family business, creating books which spark curiosity in children of all ages. These range from books for babies such as the bestselling That’s not my… series of touchy-feely books, to YA fiction from acclaimed authors such as Holly Bourne and Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé – with everything from Magic Painting to Politics for Beginners in between. Whilst the company is now a market-leader in children’s publishing and one of the best-known brands in children’s books, the company retains a friendly and familial feel. If you want to work somewhere close-knit enough for people to know your name, but which has a first-class reputation around the world, Usborne is the place for you.

The Team

The Usborne Community Partnerships Marketing team support our Independent Usborne Partners in building successful home-based businesses selling Usborne books in homes, schools, online and via social media throughout the UK and Europe.

Working closely with the rest of the marketing and events and business leadership teams you will help to deliver the voice of our communications and contribute to the overall business and marketing strategy.

In addition this individual can develop an involvement for tracking and analysing the communications to ensure our messages are effective and impactful as well as being involved in the community partnerships website administration.

  • Demonstrable experience writing engaging copy for our websites, email communications and printed marketing materials.

  • Be able to confidently interpret editorial briefs

  • The ability to work to a high standard in a fast moving environment where two days are never the same.

  • Excellent communication skills in order to work with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

  • An enthusiasm to continually seek to improve and develop our content and how we deliver it.

An interest in children’s books, along with a knowledge of the direct sales industry would be an advantage although not essential.
