About the role
Reporting to CEO - Michael Batko
This is a big role as you will be the custodian of our programs .
You'll do this through leading a team of (initially) 3 FTE who are currently managing 6 programs - scaling to 10 FTE running ~15 programs by the end of 2022.
You will be defining the strategic direction of which 5-10 new programs to launch in 2022 and then leading the launch of those programs - the impact of these effectively, you’re going to be a key player in forming the start-up ecosystem in ANZ. You create excellent customer experiences in every one of your interactions and are able to implement them at scale. You are a natural coach and great people manager as you’ll be working with a large team managing community of Thousands of Founders and Fellows.
The programs you’ll currently be managing are:
Founders - Accelerator, Founders Fellowship
Operators - Women Fellowship, Student Fellowship, Engineering Fellowship
Investors - First Believers (functional oversight, not direct line manager)
Here is a brief overview of some examples of work you will commandeer:
Strategy - Work with the CEO and product team to decide on the roadmap for the scope and timing of future programs. This will rely on strategic and data driven considerations, as well as a strong understanding of and vision for the ANZ startup landscape.
Experience Design - Define how the user journey looks like for a program participant from the day they find out a program, through to application, selection process, program all the way to becoming an alumni. Work closely with the Operations team to codify this journey at scale and translate it into human experience with your team of Program Leads.
Manager - You will be leading a large team of Program Leaders who are community builders at heart, each responsible for hundreds of participants in their programs across the year.
Position Requirements
Your background is less important than the key skills, which might include:
Prioritisation - You can relentlessly prioritise the sequence of workflows and programs we implement.
Leadership - You are a natural people leader who is comfortable leading a high performing team of 10+
Customer Empathy - You have a love for creating great experiences and magical moments for people at scale. You predict unintended consequences and design to achieve the optimal participant outcome.
Resilience - You will have a team of 10+ FTE managing a community of 1,000-2,000 participants in the first year. You are resilient in coaching your own team to manage the community, but also ready to step in to work through community problems.
We’re looking for someone who is as passionate as us about making Australia and New Zealand the best places in the world to start a company. You must have a high ownership mentality and the ability to take responsibility for goals and outcomes.
This role is fully remote anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. We currently have an office in Melbourne with satellite offices in Sydney and Auckland.
