Job Description
Role outline and purpose
The Volunteer Development Manager will work proactively with teams across the charity to
deliver the Volunteer Strategy. They will lead on the implementation of our volunteering programme, and ensure the inclusion, engagement, diversity, impact and value of volunteers is recognised and celebrated.
Role responsibilities
· Lead on the development of specialist, skilled, strategic volunteering roles, including recruitment journeys, training needs and support pathways to ensure a positive and engaging experience that works towards a demonstratable and sustainable increase in the diversity of volunteers
· Work with the Learning and Development Department and the Operations Department to ensure the charity’s volunteer training programme is strategic, accessible to a wide range of groups and focused on learning, engagement and wellbeing.
· Collate accurate qualitative and quantitative data from volunteer systems, surveys and stories to feed into internal and external reports, helping to guide the strategy
· Work with the Strategic Communications Department to showcase volunteer successes across communication channels, celebrating the impact of volunteers and promoting a culture of shared learning.
· Lead on the development and delivery of charity’s volunteer recognition programme, ensuring it remains relevant, accessible and inline with our values.
· Monitor volunteer retention and engagement across volunteer systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
