ABOUT THE TEAM

The Finance team contributes to UNICEF UK’s impact for children by working with the wider organisation to maximise the value of our supporters’ donations, and to safeguard our funds and assets.

The Finance team incorporates a range of specialist areas including Financial Control and Reporting, Donations Processing, Finance Business Partnering and Procurement. The team is part of the Finance, Legal and Information directorate which report to the Chief Financial Officer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This fixed term role has come to provide additional capacity while the current postholder is seconded to a financial transformation project and will join a team of three Finance Assistants in the Financial Control and Reporting Team. You will work alongside the wider Finance team to ensure the complete and accurate recording of financial transactions, enabling reliable reporting to support key management decisions. You will also communicate regularly and build relationships with all departments within UNICEF UK and provide information and deal with financial queries.

What we will expect you to achieve:

  • Daily import of income data from CRM system.

  • Preparation of income invoices and monitoring of payment.

  • Process supplier invoices into Finance system.

  • Process expense claims and credit card transactions and review adherence to UNICEF UK’s policies and procedures.

  • Distribute invoices promptly for authorisation to the relevant teams.

  • Prepare and check weekly payment runs (cheques and BACS).

  • Shared responsibility for handling queries from suppliers or staff.

  • Manage petty cash and cash advance payments to staff on an ongoing basis.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
