Summary of role

The Management Accountant is a key part of the finance function at Anthesis UK and covers a wide variety of responsibilities. Reporting into the FC, you will be responsible for the day-day accounting for the Bristol based entity of Anthesis, from transactional work through to analysing the accounts and partnering with the business to understand results. The role will involve all aspects of the company accounting, including sales and purchase ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, banking, accruals and prepayments, some tax submissions etc… and over the coming months the role will develop to take the management accounts to submission stage and delivering the monthly P&L, BS and other reports, along with analytical reviews and business partnering. Additional responsibilities will include some ad hoc modelling work in Excel to understand business opportunities and risks, submissions to HMRC, assisting with audit and other external parties.  The role will suit someone recently qualified (or part qualified with sufficient experience) who is interested in being involved in all aspects of the accounting function and developing with the role as the company develops and changes due to adoption of new IT systems. We are currently integrating a new finance system, and Oracle NetSuite experience would be beneficial.

 

Key Responsibilities

•                     Producing management accounts information on a timely basis according to set deadlines;

•                     Sales and purchase ledger ownership including invoicing and credit control;

•                     Bank and balance sheet reconciliations;

•                     Ad hoc modelling work;

•                     Liaising with auditors, HMRC and other external parties.

 

Skills

•                     Required: Accounting – Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or part qualified with several years relevant experience);

•                     Required: Excel- moderate-advanced. Confident using formulae and modelling scenarios;

•                     Desired: NetSuite experience.
