Training & Development Co-ordinator

The Role

The Training and Development Co-ordinator will drive the creation and delivery of high-quality training programmes that support survivors of domestic abuse, empower peer support initiatives, and strengthen community and stakeholder engagement. The role includes developing a digital training platform, managing groupwork facilitators, and delivering impactful, trauma-informed workshops to diverse audiences.

What this job does

Develops and Delivers Training:

  • Create accessible training materials, develop a digital platform, and deliver workshops for employees, volunteers, and community supporters.

    Supports Group Facilitation:

  • Line manage part-time facilitators and ensure high-quality, trauma-informed groupwork using existing tools and standards.

    Engages Communities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver awareness workshops and build stakeholder relationships.

    Evaluates and Improves Initiatives:

  • Use feedback and monitoring tools to refine training programmes and maintain best practices.

    Be a Team Player

  • Act as an ambassador for Vale DAS, promoting an effective, coordinated community response to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence and their children.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance services and ensure they remain responsive to survivors' needs.

 Person Specification

 Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A Level 4 qualification in adult learning, tutor training, or an equivalent sector qualification.

  • Level 3 Domestic Abuse Awareness Certificate or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and facilitating adult learning sessions, with a focus on creative and engaging delivery.

  • Proven experience in group facilitation, particularly in diverse and underrepresented communities.

  • Experience developing or managing digital learning platforms or tools.

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding practices and the challenges faced by domestic abuse survivors.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

 

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in the domestic abuse or related charity sector.

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches and practices.

  • Experience working with community stakeholders to deliver training.
