The Advanced Analytics Team:
Are you passionate about data and want to learn more about statistical analysis and modelling? If so, we are recruiting for Graduate Research Analysts to join the Advanced Analytics team to support our colleagues in either Consumer (Market Strategy and Understanding) or healthcare market research (Ipsos Healthcare).
The Advanced Analytics team supports client facing teams with methodological advice and statistical modelling. We are looking for Graduates to join us in our Graduate Scheme and embrace a career in Advanced Analytics within Market Research. Our Graduate Research Analysts will be part of a global team working with analytical experts all over the world, working on multi-country projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to specialize whilst gaining experience and knowledge on a variety of different topics and subjects.
Your Role:
During your time with us, you can expect to get involved in running exploratory analytics, such as correlations, factor analysis, driver/predictive modelling, Brand mapping, etc. You will also be helping to put together different interactive Excel based tools, such as segmentation profiling tools or typing tools. Learning to work with large data sets exploring relationships in the data. In addition to learning more about what we do in as part of Ipsos. You will need to be creative and innovative, showing willingness to step outside the box and experiment and look for best solutions to modelling problems.
Your primary focus will be to provide analytical and technical support on projects, gaining exposure to and experience in a great number of analytical techniques. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting senior team members in performing statistical analysis and modelling tasks on consumer and healthcare projects
Learning how to use statistical software packages and key analytical approaches including SPSS, R and Python
Develop and apply a good understanding and knowledge of the analytical products that the team supports
Learning to understand and to explore large (sometime complex) data structures, looking for outliers and exploring reasons for missing values
Become knowledgeable about the market research industry, client sectors and the Ipsos analytical offer
About You:
You’ll need:
A good related numerical degree (e.g. statistics, mathematics, psychology, computer science, etc)
Good understanding of basic statistics
Experience with Excel is essential
To have excellent attention to detail
Experience of using a mathematical or statistical software such as SPSS, SAS or R is an asset, but not required
Data preparation skills with the ability or understanding of translating such data to provide value-added client insights, and present complex data clearly and incisively
A willingness to learn, understand and improve
A proactive team approach to help others
Self-management and exceptional time management skills – ability to plan time well and carry out tasks to an expected standard
Accountability for managing your own workload and responsibility for the delivery of your own projects
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Trouble-shooting skills with the ability to think on your feet in a variety of situations
An interest in developing programming skills or prior experience are desirable but not essential (e.g. Matlab, SQL, R, Python, etc)
Along with:
Fluency in English; any other languages are an advantage as you will be working with international colleagues

The Application Process:
Those who are successful at this stage will be progressed to a gamified test and a Skype interview. The final stages would be two virtual interviews with the team.
