About Climate Outreach

We’re placing people at the heart of tackling climate change. We exist because climate change doesn’t communicate itself, even with the increasing number of climate impacts. We help people understand this complex issue in ways that resonate with their sense of identity, values and worldview. Informed consent and support from people across society and around the world creates what we call a social mandate for climate action – and we believe it’s how real change happens.

About the roles: Trustee and Chair of Trustees

You can apply for either or both of these roles using the apply link at the top right of this page.

As a trustee you will be part of a board ensuring Climate Outreach fulfils its mission, vision and values. You will provide oversight to the CEO and Executive team to achieve the organisation's mission and objectives. Click here to see the full Trustees role description.

As Chair of the board, you will lead the board of trustees, chairing meetings, ensuring governance processes work well such that the board is effective, and work closely with the CEO to ensure the organisation's strategy is delivered. Click here to see the full Chair of Trustees roles description.

How to apply

Please apply through the BeApplied application platform (click on the apply button, top right). You will be asked to answer some questions about your skills and motivations, and to upload your CV. There is an additional question for those interested in the Chair of Trustees role.

The closing date for applications will be 17:00, Thursday 13th April 2023.

If shortlisted, interviews will take place on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 April so we invite you to keep some time free on these days.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

Climate Outreach is committed to providing equal employment opportunity in all of its employment programs and decisions. We recognise the need for a diverse and inclusive approach to addressing climate change and for those directly impacted – particularly those who have been excluded in the past – to be at the centre of the movement for change.

We do our best to make staff positions accessible to all potential team members, regardless of race, national origin, ethnicity, religion, creed, class, age, disability, assigned gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation or identity, veteran status, and marital or parental status. We strive to recruit team members from communities most impacted by climate change or impacted by other kinds of environmental, social, and economic injustice. We therefore strongly encourage applications from people of colour, women, LGBTQ people, people from the working class, those living with disabilities and other members of marginalised communities. Climate Outreach’s office in Oxford is wheelchair accessible.

If you are invited to interview for the role, do let us know if you would like any carer's costs that you incurred due to attending this interview to be reimbursed.
