Job Description

Borough Market is in a new phase of its growth and is re-stating its commitment to excellence in produce, customer experience, community relationships and operational standards. This is a key role, to work on the strategic development and management of Borough Market’s communication function to enhance BM's overall reputation and build the Market’s corporate and societal aims.   

This role will work with the Head of Communications and Marketing to deliver organic social, traditional PR, onsite events and internal communications.

Key elements to this role:

·         Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing in the development of BM’s Communications Strategy and Vision.

·         Being the main point of contact with BM’s PR agency overseeing press notice creation, managing external filming requests and reporting back to the business on coverage.

·         Developing, managing and executing BM’s organic social campaigns to deliver BM communications strategy and vision, thus building awareness and engagement for BM

·         Working closely with the Marketing Manager to deliver effective integrated campaigns both on and offline

·         Deputising for the Head of Communications and Marketing as required

·         Working with the wider Marketing and Operations team to develop the BM annual events programme

·         Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing in implementing BM’s internal communications strategy including the development of effective communications between the Borough Market and its Tenants, Traders and other key stakeholders

·         Owning the communications budget in line with BM’s overall budget targets.

·         Maintaining and developing key relationships with external stakeholders, partner organisations, influencers and local community to achieve BM’s strategy and vision.
