Communications Assistant, Penguin General
Penguin Random House UK
- Closing: 11:59pm, 9th Sep 2019 BST
Job Description
Do you like to shout about the best new books to everyone you know?
Would you like to work with the team that publishes Zadie Smith, John le Carré, Dolly Alderton and Michelle Obama?
This could be the role for you.
Penguin General are looking for a Communications Assistant to join our award-winning team.
You’ll be the first point of contact for journalists and other incoming queries. You’ll provide administrative support to the rest of the team, coordinate diaries, organise agendas for meetings and manage our work experience people.
We’re looking for someone with great communication skills – you’ll be equally comfortable convincing people to read a book via tweets, emails, face-to-face or over the phone. You’ll also write press releases and coordinate mailings, as well as processing invoices and expenses.
If you are super organised, have a head for the practicalities of organising events and meetings, and like to make things run more smoothly, you’ll enjoy this role.
You’ll be a crucial member of a fun, dynamic and supportive team, have the opportunity to learn the skills of PR and Marketing Campaigns, and to attend book events, festivals and media interviews with our wonderful authors.
Previous office experience would be advantageous, but most importantly, we want someone organised and passionate about our books.
If this sounds like you, please apply by 23:59 on Monday 9th September.
We partner with The Book Trade Charity who offer financial support to people looking to enter the book trade but who may struggle to afford the costs of attending interviews. For more information visit www.booktradeentrysupport.org
