We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Operations Support Engineer will play a critical role in the continuing airworthiness of the global Fleet, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.
About the Role
Flight Operations Support will work across the business to review, analyse and action flight logs to determine solutions for hardware & software issues.
You will prioritise incoming logs and conduct a root cause analysis to rectify why the error occurred to provide feedback and key learnings to our engineering and operations team to ensure our best-in-class technology is operating safely.
This role also has the opportunity to conduct both testing and validation of our aircraft in the field, this way you gain the holistic exposure to better understand the range of flight logs being submitted.
In the field, the Flight Operations Support role conducts test and validation flights of our 5th-generation aircraft to ensure that all our technology is safe, and reliable and ready to support our global operations.
This may include conducting pre-flight inspections, launching aircraft and performing tests on system updates, both on hardware and software, and collecting various types of data.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously improve our processes, safety protocols, on hardware and software, and make operations easier and more efficient.
Work within the Swoop Service Desk environment, reviewing and action support tickets as required, and reviewing flight logs to determine solutions for technical issues.
Review flight logs to determine solutions for technical issues.
Support Swoop Aero flight demonstrations with technical assistance and real-time maintenance support.
Conduct pre-flight checks and general and safety maintenance.
Working with pilots, network managers and the serviceability lead & maintenance controller, conduct troubleshooting, maintenance and servicing of the aircraft fleet and supporting equipment, either in the field or in Swoop facilities.
Support the development of Swoop Aero Line maintenance and base maintenance procedures
Ability to action operations and airworthiness directives to support the serviceability of the global fleet.
Key Selection Criteria
Strong understanding of aircraft systems, flight mechanics, and aerodynamics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with flight test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and analysis tools.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as needed to support business activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant engineering and/or aviation operational experience
