Job Description
Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to drive UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD) digital presence working as part of the Communications team to promote UKAD’s work and supporting the wider objectives of the Strategic Plan 2021 - 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for building and growing our anti-doping community online and raising awareness and understanding of anti-doping among key audiences, including athletes, their support personnel, and stakeholder bodies.
This role will have specific responsibility for UKAD’s digital channels; the website and social media channels, including content creation and community management, and internal communications.
The main tasks include assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of communications campaigns and leading on the social media and digital activations of the campaigns. This includes planning tailored social media content and developing new and innovative content for the UKAD website as a key digital communication channel. Additionally, you will also support the internal communications, sharing key business updates with the staff via Yammer.
Key Responsibility Areas
Digital and Website Content (70%)
· Create and manage monthly content calendar for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. This includes leading on the monthly content planning meeting, drafting copy for posts, and designing any relevant assets to accompany the posts using Adobe or Canva.
· Monitor and manage UKAD’s anti-doping community online, engaging with relevant influencers where appropriate.
· Work with the Communications team to:
o create a social media strategy to grow our community and supporters of our mission to protect clean sport.
o implement, with rest of the Communications team, the communications plan as it relates to UKAD’s digital content. This includes the day-to-day running of UKAD’s social media channels, taking responsibility for proactively sourcing and distributing engaging content for UKAD’s digital channels, including the website, social media (Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn), and newsletters.
o Evaluating the performance of UKAD’s digital content and use these findings to shape future campaigns and identify new content opportunities.
· Create a monthly media and digital analytics report, to analyse where we are meeting our objectives and areas of improvement for our channels.
· Identify opportunities for paid advertising on our social media channels and Google, ensure we are producing content tailored for this and manage the paid promotions.
· To regularly update and maintain accurate information on the UKAD website and homepage of the Intranet.
· To take responsibility to produce creative communication resources (including film and photography) and to better engage UKAD’s audiences.
· Working with the Communications Manager, act as the day-to-day contact for
o UKAD’s digital support agencies including website provider where relevant, to drive value and ensure delivery against the brief.
o Stay up to date with the latest changes and improvements for business authors on social media channels, and ensure content created is keeping up with digital trends.
Brand and Events (10%)
· Support of the Brand Officer by developing social media plans to support all UKAD events including conferences, workshops, briefings, and outreach and other activities, as required.
Media Relations (10%)
· Responsible for the media monitoring account, coordinating, and disseminating media reports to staff and assisting with statistical media reports.
· Support the Communications Manager with website copy for news stories and feature articles.
· Assist in the management and development of the media database including logging media enquiries.
· Assist the Communications Manager with day-to-day media enquiries in the running of the Press Office.
· Be part of the out of hours on call media rota.
Internal Communications (10%)
· Implement an internal communications plan to best engage UKAD staff on the business platform Yammer, provide weekly email roundups and work with internal stakeholders such as the HR team to plan in general awareness events to recognise online.
· Working with the HR team, help identify and support opportunities to promote UKAD as world leading employer.
· To undertake any reasonable tasks in line with the position.

Person Specification
Qualifications/experience/knowledge
· A-Level or equivalent qualifications
· Demonstrable experience of working in a digital communications role, with a focus on website content creation and social media engagement
· Experience of managing a workload effectively to meet set deadlines
· Experience of writing in an engaging and informative style
· Experience of working as part of a team
Skills
· Competent and proven writing and editing skills for a range of target audiences and channels
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook
· Knowledge of social media channels, Tik Tok, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
· Knowledge of content management systems to update website content and experience using social listening tools (e.g., Falcon, Hootsuite)
· Experience using Google Analytics and other analytics tools to create reports
· Experience using Canva or the Adobe Suite of products (Premiere Pro and Photoshop and/or Illustrator or InDesign) is preferred
· Ability to work with external partners and suppliers
· Ability to prioritise own workload to meet set deadlines
· Self-motivated and able to operate with minimal supervision
· Creative approach to work, with the ability to develop innovative solutions and use initiative in problem solving
· Strong team player with the ability to show understanding and sensitivity to others’ views and objectives and to support other team members as required
