About TAF’s Impact Investing Analyst:

The Analyst, Impact Investing supports TAF’s investment work by identifying, assessing, and monitoring opportunities that reduce carbon emissions in urban settings. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Impact Investing, this role contributes to due diligence, financial analysis, reporting, monitoring existing investments and committee coordination.

We’re looking for someone analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative—someone who can assess investment opportunities, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. What you’ll do:

Investment Assessment & Market Intelligence

  • Screen incoming investment opportunities and assist in evaluating potential transactions.

  • Conduct financial and operational due diligence, including analysis of viability, financial statements, repayment capacity, and collateral.

  • Research market trends, industry developments, and economic factors relevant to TAF’s investment focus.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure investment opportunities align with TAF’s carbon reduction goals.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the investment lifecycle.

  • Track and update the investment pipeline and database.

  • Prepare annual reviews and collect supporting documentation.

  • Identify challenges in portfolio performance and recommend actions or escalation.

Committee & Stakeholder Support

  • Support the smooth functioning of TAF’s Investment and Direct Investment Committees.

  • Prepare and finalize presentation packages for committee meetings.

  • Assist in presenting investment opportunities and recommendations.

Organizational Engagement

  • Contribute to TAF’s collaborative, innovative culture.

  • Represent TAF professionally in meetings and partnerships.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives, staff-wide planning, and professional development.

Knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:

Education & Experience – Essential

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field — or equivalent experience.

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in banking, venture capital, private equity, or a related investment field.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting financial analysis and supporting investment transactions.

Education & Experience – Helpful

  • Familiarity with financing models for renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicle industry, or low-carbon technologies.

  • Experience preparing materials for decision-making bodies such as boards or investment committees.

  • Comfort working in hybrid or remote environments using digital collaboration tools.

What we offer:

The starting annual salary range for this role is $67,000 to $72,000. We use an established pay grid and follow a consistent an equitable approach to compensation to ensure fairness across our team and equal pay for equal work. Candidates whose experience and qualifications exceed the listed requirements may be offered a starting salary at the higher end of the posted range.

    • Quarterly retirement savings contributions after three months.

    • $1,040 stipend (paid biweekly in installments of $40) to support cellphone and internet expenses.
