Location: Flexible with 1-2 days per week in the London office. Also expectation for client meetings nationwide, with flexibility on working from home at other time.

That’s nearly a third of all adults in the UK.

We are Fair4All Finance. We are a not-for-profit organisation working with Financial Services providers to improve the financial wellbeing of people in vulnerable circumstances by increasing access to fair, affordable and appropriate financial products and services. 

We are continuing our work following our latest round of funding, and as a result we are now seeking an Investment Associate who will play a central role in scaling the provision of fair, affordable credit and shaping long-term financial inclusion across the UK.

Working within our growing Investment team, you will support the assessment, execution and monitoring of social investments that help transform the financial services sector. This includes working with commercial lenders, community finance providers, fintech innovators and strategic partners to design funding solutions with strong social impact.

You will bring analytical strength, relationship-building capability, and a commitment to improving customer outcomes. Whether your background is in banking, social investment, financial services, or a mission-driven environment, this role offers a unique opportunity to use your skills for meaningful social change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of a portfolio of existing social investments and grants.

  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with investees and delivery partners.

  • Help assess risk, progress against plan, and performance against contractual expectations.

  • Monitor financial and social impact performance metrics.

  • Analyse trends and ensure insights are integrated into internal systems and reporting cycles.

  • Communicate findings clearly to internal teams and senior stakeholders.

  • Assist with due diligence for potential investments in commercial lenders, community finance organisations and other opportunities.

  • Support evidence-led recommendations to the Investment Committee.

  • Contribute to negotiation processes, ensuring that social purpose is embedded in legal documentation.

  • Lead or support strategically important investment-related projects.

  • Collaborate across teams—including Innovation & Development, Policy & Strategy, and Evaluation—to drive systems change in financial inclusion.

  • Contribute to the expansion and evolution of Fair4All Finance’s investment approach as new dormant assets funding becomes available.

Essential experience & qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and high numerical capability.

  • To be able to process and analyse reporting data, track progress of investments and/or projects against plan 

  • Clear, confident communication skills—both written and verbal.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.

  • Confidence working alongside senior decision-makers and presenting evidence.

  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and navigate complex situations.

  • A proactive, collaborative approach to working in a small and growing team.

Desirable experience

  • Due diligence

  • Experience of making impact investments into social enterprises   

  • Experience making investments into fintechs and/or early-stage companies.

  • Community finance or consumer finance sectors.

  • Financial modelling skills

  • Exposure to negotiating or reviewing investment legal documents.

Founded in 2019, we are funded from the Dormant Assets Scheme. The scheme is led by the financial industry and backed by the UK government. This makes it possible for money in dormant bank and building society accounts to be used to help good causes.
