Job Description
The Teton Valley Rations Manager oversees all aspects of the rations department. They provide instruction and training in nutrition, food preparation, and meal planning. They also participate as a team member in problem-solving, operations support, and facilities maintenance.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the position start date and possess a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving history and be able to meet the criteria for NOLS vehicle insurance coverage.

What does a Rations Manager do?
This role is part of our Teton Valley operations team. This includes the following responsibilities:
Plan and purchase food to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, intolerances, preferences, etc.) for staff, students, and field faculty, on the road, and in the field.
Work with the Rocky Mountain rations department on bulk food acquisition.
Perform associated bookkeeping duties—track expenses.
Brief and advise field instructors on course rations, course dietary requirements, allergen management, and meals.
Maintain an impeccably clean and organized rations room. Oversee that food preparation, serving, and storage equipment are maintained in a sanitary, functional condition.
Assist with operations, including transportation, equipment, evacuations, facilities maintenance/clean-up, and other duties as assigned..
Periodically, supervise one to three other Teton Valley employees within the rations department.

Who are we and what can we offer you?
NOLS Teton Valley is located in Driggs, Idaho, at the foot of the western side of the Teton Range (40 minutes from Jackson Hole, WY). On-campus yurt housing is available for a modest fee. Staff members are not required to live on-property. Meals are provided for in-town staff when students are on-site. This is a full-time seasonal position with an anticipated start date in mid-April to begin training. Our summer season runs through mid-August.
