About Forum for the Future

Forum for the Future is a leading international sustainability organisations. We convene businesses, philanthropies, government, and civil society in change-making collaborations designed to create a just and regenerative future. We bring a 30-year track record in influencing change on the issues that matter most, inspiring change-actors to step up their ambition, stretch their vision and find pathways that are systemic, strategic and capable of tackling the root causes of our current crises.

We focus on influencing three pivotal transitions: to renewable energy, to a sustainable food system, and in the purpose of business. Our collaborations are largely either one-to-one or coalition-based, bringing together influential organisations to tackle shared challenges. We work out of four regions — the Americas, UK/Europe, India and Southeast Asia — and operate as a global team, delivering both international and local projects. As a dynamic, international professional with a deep commitment to creating a better future, you will play a pivotal role in using communications to drive real and lasting impact.

About the team

We are a multicultural team of more than 65 people, working across the UK and Europe, the Americas, India and Southeast Asia.

This role, Digital Marketing & Communications Executive, is based in India and supports Forum for the Future’s work across global programmes and geographies. Working as part of Forum’s International Communications and Marketing team (based across all four regions), you will play a hands-on role in delivering digital communications that support programme delivery, income generation and brand objectives at an exciting and important moment for Forum’s work.

Through high-quality digital content and campaigns, you will help bring Forum’s work to life - translating complex ideas into clear, engaging communications that influence how people understand the challenges we face, feel connected to our mission, and are motivated to act on the opportunities for change.

About the role

Forum is at an exciting time in its evolution, offering opportunities for unprecedented impact as we enter our 30th anniversary year. We updated our strategy in 2022, and it is now firmly in its implementation phase.

We know that creating meaningful change depends on engaging and inspiring change-makers - and that starts with clearly and compellingly communicating who we are, what we do, and why it matters. Through effective digital communications, we aim to influence what people understand, care about and ultimately do in response to today’s social and environmental challenges, while continually learning from data and insight to improve our approach.

The post-holder will play a hands-on role in delivering Forum’s global digital communications, using a mix of web, email and social channels to support programmes, fundraising and brand objectives. Working closely with programme teams and colleagues across regions, you will help translate complex work into clear, engaging content and ensure it reaches the right audiences at the right time.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality, thought-leading digital content and campaigns, and who is motivated by the chance to engage hearts and minds at a pivotal moment for the sustainability movement.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • An interest in using organic and paid digital communications to help influence what people understand, care about and do in relation to social and environmental issues

  • A developing understanding of how narratives in the sustainability space are shaped, and curiosity about how digital content contributes to change

  • An interest in how communications can support action by industry, civil society and other stakeholders, even when topics are complex

  • Enthusiasm for digital marketing and creating engaging content across channels such as websites, email and social media

  • A collaborative and proactive working style, with a willingness to learn and take responsibility for assigned tasks

  • Motivation to be part of a team working towards a just and regenerative future

  • Experience creating content, updating digital channels, or assisting with campaigns or events

  • An understanding of how different digital channels are used to build awareness, engagement and support income generation

  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle tasks, meet deadlines and work across multiple requests

And to further thrive in this role you will:

  • Be comfortable working in a highly distributed, networked team and able to stay organised and responsive when collaborating across time zones and teams

  • Enjoy working with people from different cultures and geographies, and bring Forum’s values into how you work - being courageous, adaptive, empathetic, inquisitive, playful and respectful

  • Be a clear and thoughtful communicator, with the ability to write engaging digital content and communicate ideas simply and effectively for non-expert audiences

If you do not meet all of the requirements outlined in the job description but still believe you have the right mix of skills and experience to thrive in this role and further Forum’s ambitious goals for change, we encourage you to apply.

In return, we offer a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of systems thinking and change making, continually learning and experimenting to identify how we deliver the most impact working in a collaborative multi-cultural team environment.

Forum for the Future works in a space of complexity where there are no easy answers – an ideal candidate will be comfortable with uncertainty and be able to hold space for exploration and innovation. Resilience is a key personal attribute that is necessary to the role.

In return, we offer a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of systems thinking and change making. We work as a close knit, dynamic, and supportive team. We offer various opportunities for flexible working to help you manage your work life balance.
