The Role:

At Little Moons, we are dedicated to providing a safe, compliant, and supportive work environment where our employees can thrive both professionally and personally. The role of the EHS Manager is central to ensuring this. Effective Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) management is critical not only to the achievement of our strategic goals but also to fostering a safe, efficient working environment that protects our people, the environment, and our overall business performance.

As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our site's EHS management systems, ensuring full compliance with legal and safety standards. You will cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to embed a safety-first culture across the site and act as a role model for promoting an exceptional EHS culture.

In this role, you will work closely with departmental managers to drive best practices and contribute to the broader company EHS strategy with a focus on continuous improvement and employee engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the safety and wellbeing of our teams while supporting the overall performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the company meets all its relevant health and safety legal obligations by developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive health and safety management system that is regularly reviewed and updated.

  • Act as the site lead for all matters relating to EHS, maintaining a positive and committed attitude, and ensuring that health and safety is embedded within the company's core values.

  • Identify all potential health and safety risks and take necessary actions to reduce risks to an acceptable level.

  • Ensure that all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported, investigated, and corrective actions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence. Act as the site representative for reports to enforcing authorities (e.g., RIDDOR) when required.

  • Provide expert advice and support to Operational Leadership Teams on all EHS issues and concerns, ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting a safety-first culture.

  • Manage the Site EHS strategy, identifying key areas of improvement and promoting a mindset of continuous improvement and employee engagement in all EHS matters.

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and organisational policies, advising on relevant changes and ensuring all necessary measures are taken.

  • Maintain a health and safety training plan for all roles on site, ensuring that relevant EHS training (e.g., first aid, fire wardens) is identified and completed.

  • Implement and maintain a health and safety compliance plan, ensuring that the management system is monitored, and all legislative requirements are met.

  • Participate in the development and execution of Little Moons' broader Sustainability Strategy and work closely with the Sustainability function to support activities such as carbon footprint reduction and B-Corp certification.

    This list is not exhaustive.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) would be ideal

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH/IEMA).  Ideally chartered status or working towards.

  • 5-10yrs experience managing EHS at a Senior Level (e.g. Site Leadership Team)

  • Experience in Food Manufacturing industry, or demonstrable experience of managing similar risks (e.g. PUWER, DSEAR, COSHH, Manual Handling etc.)
