Job Description
Our small central office Finance team provides financial accounting and administrative support to all parts of the Green Party of England and Wales, including to the offices of our representatives in Parliament.
We also co-ordinate statutory financial reporting to the Electoral Commission for the central party and for local and regional Green Parties (Accounting Units).
The Finance Officer, along with other members of the Finance team, is responsible for ensuring that all transactions are promptly and accurately recorded in our accounting software (Xero), for ensuring that payments are made to third parties in accordance with our policies and in a timely manner, for some credit control duties and for supporting the rest of the Finance team as required.
We need a meticulous person, who is capable of communicating effectively and building constructive relationships with volunteers and other staff members. The successful candidate must be used to working to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
The successful applicant must have experience of bookkeeping, using computerised accounting software. They must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and be highly organised, with a high level of attention to detail.
