We’re looking for an Assistant who will be working in the award-winning Campaigns & Marketing team within the ABI’s Corporate Affairs Directorate. The primary purpose of the role is to support the team with the successful execution and delivery of the ABI’s campaigns and marketing activities. This dynamic and fast-paced role encompasses a broad spectrum of workstreams including brand and marketing projects to social media content and campaigns and updating our website.

What’s the job?
Digital
Work with the Digital Campaigns Manager to ensure the social media content calendar is up to date and create new assets for social posts
Create and own elements of digital marketing such as the email signature plan, reports and research
Assist with the day-to-day administration of the website, including uploading content and ensuring it’s up to date
Manage updates to the Campaigns and Marketing area of the ABI Intranet
Marketing
Support the delivery of the ABI’s flagship communications, including Mid-Year and Annual Review, gathering content, working closely with the Marketing and Brand Manager and colleagues across the organisation to collate copy, edit content and ensure production deadlines are met
Working with colleagues in the corporate affairs and events team to develop and deliver brand content, including event branding, member communications and external marketing materials
Support the team in agency and supplier management, including briefing in design work, helping coordinate photographers and videographers
Campaigns
Provide day-to-day support to help successfully develop and deliver impactful campaigns
Compile reports to help analyse campaign and marketing activity success and suggest ways to improve future campaigns;
What skills do you need?
A keen interest and good basic knowledge of marketing and social media
A desire to learn about the insurance industry
High-level of attention to detail and accuracy
Fluent written and spoken English
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels
Creative thinking with a curious, inquisitive nature
Proactive, organised and self-motivated to manage workload and meet agreed deadlines
An ability to work collaboratively and to contribute to the wider work of the ABI, a premium is placed on an open and friendly personality

We’re looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to join our Corporate Affairs team. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a passion for politics and an interest beyond Westminster.
You’ll be working alongside the Head of Public Policy on the ABI’s public affairs work in the devolved nations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It’s a varied and fast-paced role with the opportunity to show your talents for policy analysis on behalf of ABI members and colleagues; producing ABI submissions for parliaments and governments; engaging with Ministers, their officials and with Members of the Scottish Parliament, Senedd and Northern Ireland Assembly.

What’s the job?
Analysing policies and legislation relevant to insurance and long-term savings from the Scottish and Welsh Governments and Northern Ireland Executive.
Engaging with Ministers and their officials in the three devolved administrations, and with Members of the Scottish Parliament, Senedd and Northern Ireland Assembly.
Producing and presenting research and information for ABI member firms on insurance and long-term savings issues in the devolved nations.
Preparing briefing notes for senior colleagues in advance of meetings with key stakeholders.
Contributing to the ABI’s response to government and parliamentary consultations and enquiries.
Monitoring and summarising meetings of the Scottish Parliament, Senedd and Northern Ireland Assembly to brief members on relevant updates.
Working with wider ABI colleagues to help them understand policy work in the devolved nations in relation to UK-level issues.
Co-ordinate responses to letters from Parliamentarians and inquiries and undertaking political research.
What skills do you need?
Political nous – you understand and can explain politics and governance across the devolved nations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and how they relate to UK Parliament and Government.
Making the technical accessible – you can summarise information in a way that is accessible for everyone and excite other people’s interest in public affairs, insurance and long-term savings.
Efficiency – organisation and high attention to detail come naturally to you.
Communication – your written communication is of a high standard and you have a good sense of how to build and manage your working relationships.
Teamwork – you work proactively with others and are willing to help your colleagues.
